My name is Sara Atkinson, an Ohioan who loves coffee, wine, and every carb in the book. I met my husband, Ben, in high school - yes, we're one of *those* couples. ;) But I wouldn't have it any other way. He's my best friend and biggest supporter. We've been married four years and have lived in four different states (but don't worry, Ohio is HOME - we're here to stay!). We have a sassy cat named Piper and the sweetest pup, Lindy.
I'm a wedding and portrait photographer, but when I'm not working, I can be found hanging out with friends and family, working out at our CrossFit gym, or cuddled up on the couch watching something on Netflix with my hubby.
I fell in love with photography in high school but talked myself out of pursuing it, thinking I needed to pursue something with more stability. After changing my major a few times in college, I landed on a degree where I needed to take a few photography classes and learned how to use a camera in manual mode. I instantly fell back in love.
I started taking nature and landscape shots and would shoot at any family or friend's gathering. Nothing too crazy, but something to get my feet wet and work on my shooting and editing. I started portrait sessions and second-shooting weddings, as well as shooting weddings on my own.
If there's one thing you should know about my photography, it's the why behind it.
I believe we are here to serve one another, to pour ourselves out in order to build others up. I believe God gave each person special gifts and we are to use those gifts to give back to Him and to bless the people around us.
Photography, for me, is a way to serve others – capturing special moments in time and showing the beauty and joy in relationships. These moments are powerful, and there's something extremely special about being able to revisit them by looking at a photograph.
